Acupuncture for Natural Healing
Acupuncture has the power to help your body heal naturally. I use the Balance Method and Tung styles of Acupuncture to help you experience quick and lasting relief. Relief of symptoms is often felt in mere seconds after needle insertion, though the treatment benefits last longer. Unlike many systems of Acupuncture, I select and needle points far away from the troubled area. When you have multiple issues you need help with, or a long standing problem, follow up visits will continue your healing.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture has been used in China for more than 3000 years to successfully diagnose, treat and prevent disease. The theory and practice of Acupuncture are part of the comprehensive system of Chinese Medicine developed by observing the relationship between nature and human beings.
These practices were passed down by families, each family line specializing in their unique style of medicine. Some families practiced Acupuncture, while others healed exclusively with herbs or Qi Gong (energy medicine). It is only recently that all these practices have been combined to form Traditional Chinese Medicine, a body of knowledge and method of practice evolving over many centuries.
The ancient Chinese paid close attention to the common energy that runs through all living things, including the human body. This energy can be likened to the nerve pathways of Western medicine, which are called meridians in Chinese Medicine. When these pathways are disrupted, disease or discomfort can result. Just as a fallen tree creates a change in the current of a river, once it is removed, the natural flow of water returns. Acupuncture regulates the energy pathways of the body and promotes healing naturally. Using this complex and fluid system, the practitioner is able to see and treat patterns of disease, often before they are detectable by modern diagnostics.
What is an Acupuncture Treatment Like?
By inserting fine, sterile and disposable needles into specific Acupuncture points, the practitioner can restore the natural balance of the body -- the change is often felt immediately. Acupuncture works on all systems of the body, proven to be effective in balancing the physical, mental, emotional and less easily defined spiritual aspects. Acupuncture is safe, effective and can be combined with Western medical or alternative medical treatments.
Who Can Benefit from Acupuncture?
I have helped a wide variety of patients, including those with complex and chronic health issues regain their health. Acupuncture can help with the common cold, menopause, fatigue, allergies, digestive concerns, anxiety, gall bladder problems and countless other concerns.
Acupuncture can also help those struggling with stress or fatigue and the demands of modern life. However, you don't need to be suffering from ill heatlh to benefit from Acupuncture, it can be used for general stress or to increase feelings of wel-being. Acupuncture can help a wide variety of health conditions, because it helps the body restore natural healthy function.
When appropriate, I prescribe Herbal Medicine, or make Nutrition suggestions, which can greatly enhance and speed your healing.
